A former Indian Army personnel who served in the 1971 Indo-Pak War, channelled his passion for service into impactful social work after sustaining injuries during the war. Equipped with an M.A. LL.B degree earned during his military tenure, he registered with The Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa and began practising at the Mumbai High Court, where he represented several underprivileged individuals in pro bono cases. His commitment to community welfare led him to establish the Senior Citizens’ Welfare Association (SCWA) in Thane, Maharashtra, offering free legal aid and medical assistance to senior citizens. Building on SCWA’s foundation, he founded AWARENESS, which expanded its mission to address sanitation, education, and safety for marginalized and tribal communities.
Under his leadership, AWARENESS has made remarkable strides, including constructing 650 toilets across 43 villages, raising hygiene awareness in 350 schools in Tamil Nadu, and hosting medical camps in partnership with DY Patil Medical College. Adv. Krishnan’s dedication extends to his work with senior citizen committees and legal aid initiatives, providing vital support and empowerment to underserved communities. His efforts have been widely recognized, earning accolades.
